The Ceduna Business & Tourism Association is proud to announce the August winner - "Highway One"
The community can now nominate a CBTA member at anytime during 2010 to be included in the judging of the monthly awards. "Many businesses did not wish to nominate themselves for the awards, feeling it was perhaps a little pompous, or if they had won the award at some stage they didn't wish to 'hog the limelight' so to speak so didn't re-enter, now customers can nominate a business they feel is worthy of the award, removing this stigma" said CBTA President Marcus Tanke.
Forms will be available at member businesses from early January or people can use the online form now to nominate their favourite business. "The form is very short and simple. We ask customers to indicate a score out of five across three areas - customer service, presentation and value for money. There is also room for a comment on the form" said Marcus. "Information will be passed onto the business who has been nominated so it will act as a feedback form as well, letting our members know what they do well and any areas they may wish to improve on."
Each month an independent panel will review the entries and decide on a winner for that month. Winners are not decided on the number of entries received in the month - one entry has as much chance of winning as 100.
"This is a great opportunity for customers to provided feedback to the business community. We often do not tell the businesses when they do a good job, these awards will recognise those outstanding businesses in our community throughout 2010. We expect to receive a good cross section of entries from retail, wholesale and the trades. We encourage all businesses to ask your customers to fill in the form; it is a simple as saying "If you are happy with our service/products please fill in this form".
The winner receives a complimentary 8cm x 3 column advert in the West Coast Sentinel for the month they have won, plus an editorial spread highlighting their business.
Each monthly winner is then eligible for the Business of the Year Awards which is judged in December each year. If you are a monthly winner you will be asked to fill in a simply questionnaire on your business which is then judged by an independent panel. Some or all of the judges may act as secret shoppers and visit your business during the judging period.
In 2010 the Business of the Year winners will be announced at a Christmas Awards Function to be held in December. The Association has already started planning the gala night which will be a celebration of the many wonderful businesses here in Ceduna.
The Ceduna Business & Tourism Association Business of the Year winner receives a $2000 cash prize and the runner up a $1000 cash prize. The Association would like to acknowledge our Business of the Month/Year major sponsor the District Council of Ceduna and also the West Coast Sentinel for their support.
All CBTA members will be eligible to be nominated. If you have not confirmed you membership for 2009/10 please click here, fill in the membership forms and return with your payment to PO Box 123, Ceduna.
